Democratic Alliance(DA) has announced that it will tomorrow lay charges of fraud and corruption against the Eastern Cape Government Director General(DG) for authorising the transfer of money to corrupt entities.
The party accuses Marion Mbina-Mthembu of authorising payments during her tenure as Head of Department for Provincial Treasury.
DA national Spokesperson Refiloe Nt’sekhe says the DA will also submit the Public Protector’s report which made adverse findings against several government and ANC officials to the police.
“We will also submit the Public Protector’s Mandela Funeral Report to the South African Police Service (SAPS) to supplement an existing docket and ongoing investigation by the Hawks into the allegations which date back to 2013.
The DA has also accused the ANC of not being serious about fighting corruption and disrespecting the memory of Mandela.
“The ANC in the province has shown that it will do anything to advance a corrupt agenda, even steal the people’s money in the name of former President Nelson Mandela”
