ANN7’s newest venture, Law, My Anchor, launches on Tuesday 16 August 2016 at 4:30 pm on DStv channel 405. Law, My anchor is a panel discussion hosted by Regional Court.
Magistrate Melisa Jordan.
Holding LLM Degree, Melisa Jordaan is highly qualified legal expert with over 19 years of experience presiding in the different courts of law. She is the first magistrate from the Eastern Cape to preside in the Equality Court, presiding in a landmark judgment, where Kabega Park Police Station was ordered to become more accessible to differently-abled persons. This judgment is referenced in the Netherlands in legal articles.
The aim of the show is to entrench understanding of basic Human Rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic. Many citizens do not challenge injustices because of lack of information or support to exercise their Constitutional Rights. Law, My Anchor will equip citizens through educational discussions to become better informed citizens to improve and restore their dignity.
Each week Melisa will be joined by a panel of credible experts and a studio audience. The show will be interactive, and will discuss the laws of the country in a way that is easily understood by all.
Catch Law, My Anchor on Tuesdays at 4:30pm with repeats on Wednesdays 11:30 and Thursdays 8:30pm on Dstv channel 405.
