THE New Age has lost one of its valued staff members, Meriam Molaba, who lost her long battle with stomach cancer. The soft-spoken Molaba who was part of the cleaning staff, joined the company on September 26, 2011 as an office assistant cleaner.
A close colleague who had worked with her for more than 10 years, Theresa Kwenaite, described her as a reliable friend who never broke her promises.
“I will miss her warm smile and kindness. She always passed by in the morning to greet me,” Kwenaite said.
Described as a sweet, hard working woman by some of her colleagues, Kwanaite was reserved yet friendly to everyone she interacted with.
She loved singing and would often go around singing as she went about her work.
“She was a woman of few words but when you struck a conversation with her she spoke with a smile and was always willing to listen,” a member of the editorial team, Dikeledi Ramabopo, said.
Ramabopa said in their interaction she had stressed the importance of prayer and approached every situation with stoicism.
A memorial service is to be held by the company today. Her funeral will at her home in Limpopo this Saturday. The company has sent its deepest condolences to her family.
